NOTARY SEMINAR/WORKSHOP: $ 119.00 Register Now
Required state approved six hour continuing education class in order to become a new Notary or renew after July 1, 2005. Once you have taken the six hour continuing education class, then every four years there after you are required to take a three hour refresher class to renew your license, every four years you must re do your live fingerprint scan and take the notary exam.
The live seminar includes a continental breakfast and a gourmet lunch. You may take a the California Notary exam and have your Live Fingerprint Scan done the same day. (*See below details when you register.)
HOME STUDY NOTARY COURSE: $65.00 Register Now Six hour home study course designed to help you prepare and meet the continuing education requirement at your own pace and at home. Simply review the SIX-HOUR work book , sign the DECLARATION /CERTIFICATION UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY and mail back with a copy of your Driver’s license or other proper ID. Your certificate of completion will be mailed within 24 hrs. Schedule your state exam on www.cps.ca.gov/TakeATest/Notary/ THREE HOUR HOME STUDY REFRESHER COURSE $40.00 Register Now For renewing Notaries who have taken the Six Hour continuing education course and your commission has not expired. You must complete the Three Hour refresher course and pass the state notary exam prior to your commission expiring or it is mandatory to take the Six Hour continuing education course over. (All notaries can take the Six Hour course in place of the Three Hour refresher to renew.)

Bring a separate $40.00 personal check, money order, company check or cashier check made payable to Secretary of State this to be given to the State Proctor at time of exam and not mailed with registration. Civil Code section 1196 - Subscribing Witness. In addition to quitclaim, grant deeds (other than trustee's deeds or deeds of re-conveyance), mortgages. deeds of trust or security agreements - add no powers of attorney or any document where notary needs to obtain a thumb print cannot be used. Government Code sections 8205,8208 & 8211; Commercial Code section 3505 - Protests. Only notaries public employed by a financial institution, during the course and scope of notary's employment with financial institution, are authorized to demand acceptance and payment for foreign and inland bills of exchange, or promissory notes, or to protest for nonacceptance or non payment. Also, deletes the prescribed maximum fee for every protest of nonpayment. No fee can be charged for protest because only notaries public working for a financial institution are authorized to execute protest. |
